Members from Glossop SNT (PCSO Buller & PCSO Martin) and 2 volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event at Woolleybridge Rd, Hadfield this afternoon, Friday April 10th - between 1.45 pm and 2.50 pm.
The speed limit on this road is 30 mph. During the event today the number of vehicles who went by the team was 443 of those 31 were recorded driving above 35 mph. with the highest being recorded at 42mph.
This location had been identified by residents in Hadfield as one of their Policing Priorities and reported by the community as a high-risk road through speeding.
Community Speed Watch supports the police by monitoring the speed of vehicles through local communities. Community Speed Watch does not enforce the law but those identified as exceeding the speed limit can expect to receive an advisory letter or a personal visit from the police. Community Speed Watch is designed to support the police by making us all aware of the dangers of travelling too fast for the prevailing conditions. 60 people were killed in road traffic collisions
Thank you and well done from Glossop SNT to the volunteers who conducted the event today. As always thank you to our communities for their help in identifying their concerns re speeding and for their support in promoting road safety within our area.
